Eden Hydroseeders
« on: Wed June 10, 2009, 04:03:55 PM »
Eden has been a Silver member for a while.   This section is a new benefit for Silver members.  I am not sure anyone from Eden will be around to answer questions.  It would be great if they would participate.  If any of our members have specific questions they might want to visit the website and contact Eden direct from there.  Hopefully with this section now available to them they may stop in from time to time.

Edens web site is http://www.edenequip.com/

Eden Hydroseeding Equipment is the latest product line introduced by Pik Rite Inc. We take pride in using the highest quality industrial components available to assemble a system that is second-to-none and will provide high quality service for years to come.  Along with this comes the same high quality service and support that Pik Rite has become known for, which keeps your machine working for you year after year.

I have never talked to anyone who owned one to get thier comments but it seems to me that they make a pretty nice, first class unit.

Thats actually a hydroseeding contractor not the manufacturer.  The Eden Machines are manufactured in PA. I believe they are still in business.
Here is the link to the site http://www.pikrite.com/content/eden-hydroseeding-equipment

I believe they manufacture other AG equipment and that may be their primary focus now

Yes, they make quite a bit of other equipment, some of it quite interesting.  I never knew there was such a thing as a chili pepper harvester, or a carrot harvester.   I don't think they have lowered their focus on hydroseeding equipment too much but I do think it is not the main part of their business.  Of course I think hydroseeding equipment may not be the main focus for several companies.  Kincaids biggest business is the combine work and I think Bowies big business is gearboxes.

Are the Eden hydroseeders still around? I heard about one for sale but I can't even find a website or any contact info... Can you get parts for those things?

Have not heard anything about them for years.  I think you would be on your own for parts.  At one time they used a Bowie pump so I could probably help you out there if indeed they had the Bowie pump on the unit

Eden is or was made by Pik Rite Corp in Eastern PA.  They may still make them and do have them listed on their web site but there are no links that are easy to find.  If you search around their web site long enough you do find them.   Parts should still be available but a lot of the parts would be available from other sources as well.

Here is a link to their hydro-seeder page.

Are you chasing after a discontinued product, with no dealer to support you?  If you didn't already acquire an Eden/PikRite machine, I would think you could find a used piece from one of us other manufacturers much easier and probably at a similar price.  There is a dealer near you that can get their hands on a used hydroseeder in your price range, if that's what you're looking for.  Let me know if you'd like some assistance.

Several years ago, I looked at the Eden units and found they had some very nice engineering done on their units.  The model I saw and ran was very nicely put together.

At that time, I felt the unit was terribly underpowered. If you lived in the immediate area, you probably would have been OK to get it serviced.  They had produced a larger unit (+- 1,700 gallon) for a local contractor, but I understood they were very busy with water tankers being used in the drilling fields of NE PA.
