What Kind of Mulch do I start with?
« on: Tue December 18, 2018, 11:06:56 PM »
I have just got all my equipment going and have been doing some research on Mulch. There are so many different kinds, brands, how do I know what kind to start with? Is higher cost better? I have a mechanical agitated 600 gallon machine. The pump is a Monarch MIG-40. Is there a mulch that this setup can not run?

Your machine should be able to handle most mulches.  I usually recommend a 70/30 blend  70% wood /30% paper.  This is an all around good mulch for most projects.  If you have sites with slopes greater than 3 to 1 you may want to consider 100% wood.  For very steep slopes or critical sites there are some highly effective but expensive products such as BFMs and FGMs.
