Barry Cook

Based in Boring, Oregon, Northwest Hydro-Mulchers, Inc. services Oregon and Washington and has earned the reputation of being an industry leader in solution oriented approaches on difficult and unique sites.

Projects have ranged from disaster repair on Mt St Helens post eruption (early 80’s), To Nike’s world cup soccer field at their main campus in Portland Oregon, to the largest Dam decommissioning in the history of the US on the Pacific Corp Condit Dam project (2012) located on the White Salmon River in Washington.

In 2002, Barry was asked to participate as the only erosion control professional for the re-write of the ODOT/APWA specifications. The standard specification revision included sections in erosion control, and landscaping along with the creation of standard specifications for the newly formed wetland and riparian zone planting, revegetation, and maintenance sections.

From 2003 – 2005, Barry performed training sessions for ODOT and other government agency personnel, in how to inspect, and be in compliance on hydraulically applied, erosion control BMP’s.

Barry has been a speaker on erosion control BMP’s, the new class of hydraulically applied BSA’s (biotic soil amendments) and quality control concerns at regional EC conferences, and at the annual industry convention; PNWIECA.
