Chris Thomson

Chris is the owner of Maritime Hydroseed, based in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. The company began operations in 1973 and was one of the first hydroseeders in Eastern Canada. For more than 20 years, their work was almost exclusive to Department of Transportation projects. As major DOT highway projects began winding down in 2005, a new direction was needed. Today, they are a green industry leader specializing in vegetation establishment and preventative solutions for erosion, dust, sediment and storm water. They are also a revegetation and reclamation consultant, landscape services contractor and product distributor.

Chris has been involved in the family businesses for 25 years, which has included landscape maintenance and operations in the waste management industry (waste collection, recycling, compost, C&D – construction and demolition – site). Factory certified in special applications for hydraulic (HECP) and rolled (RECP) erosion control products. NBSCA-COR Certified in health and safety by the New Brunswick Construction Safety Association. Certified ISNetworld Contractor member. Active with the Atlantic Road Builders’ Heavy Construction.
